FBI secretly monitoring travelers via Sabre booking data
As the only one of the three big GDS companies which is US-owned, it’s unsurprising Sabre has been leaned on to provide details on travel histories of individuals. This has been used on some occasions to monitor a person’s real-time travel too.
It is unclear how deep the ties go between Sabre and the government and how consensual it actually is. However, perhaps it could potentially help track and keep tabs on the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
