Flight attendant charged with selling 1500 bottles of booze from flights
A flight attendant has been charged with swiping hundreds of miniature bottles of liquor from flights she worked on and then selling the booze online.
It is claimed the member of cabin crew sneaked bottles of rum, gin and whiskey into her bag at the end of flights, then sold them on the internet at a fraction of the in-flight price.
Prosecutors say Rachel Trevor, 28, stole around 1,500 50-mililitre bottles at the end of shifts with Endeavor Air, a regional affiliate of Delta Air Lines in the US.
ABC News reports she sold them on online marketplace Craigslist for $1 a bottle.
The bottles are typically sold for $8 each onboard the plane.
She faces charges including theft of property over $10,000, unlawful sale of alcohol and unauthorised transportation of alcohol.
"Endeavor Air expects nothing short of the highest standard of integrity from our employees and takes seriously any activity that falls short of that expectation. This employee is no longer employed by the airline. We will continue to work with authorities as needed," the company said in a statement.
