Flight Centre Corporate Traveller and Britannic become FCm

Flight Centre’s UK Corporate Traveller division has been incorporated into global business travel company FCm Travel Solutions.

FCm was launched in the UK by Australian travel group Flight Centre last month with ambitious plans to challenge travel management giants American Express, BTI and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, as reported by TravelMole.

Two Corporate Traveller offices in London have now merged with the former Britannic Travel, launch vehicle for FCm in the UK, and both have been rebranded. Corporate Traveller’s 60 staff have undergone training ready for the switch and 10 IT staff have been working for a month integrating back office, fares and email systems.

UK Corporate Traveller claims a UK turnover of £35 million with business travel accounts including the London 2012 Olympic bid team, Group 4 Securicor and Banco Santander.

Operations director Lee Hames said: “Re-branding as FCm Travel Solutions means that we are part of a much stronger global network which is set to become one of the leading players in the corporate travel industry. In addition, merging with a leading and larger UK player such as former Britannic Travel enables us to benefit from larger systems, more training and key alliances.”

FCm UK managing director Alan Spence, who sold Britannic to Flight Centre two years ago, said: “The move made sense because both Corporate Traveller and Britannic were owned by Flight Centre Limited.”
