Flights and trains cancelled due to French strikes

Short haul flights are being disrupted today by a National Strike in France, which is due to last until tomorrow (Friday) morning.
Air passengers will have to endure delays and cancellations as air traffic controllers join the industrial action, and Eurostar has already cancelled some train service between London and Paris.
EasyJet said: "Like all airlines, our flights to and from French airports, as well as those flying in French airspace, could be affected.
"We expect that there will be delays and cancellations due to the industrial action, therefore we advise all customers to check the status of their flight on our flight tracker either on our mobile app or website.
"Please also be aware that public transport services will be affected by the strike. We recommend all customers allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport and consider alternative transport options where possible.
"Although this situation is outside of our control we would like to apologise to any affected passengers for the inconvenience caused."
BA warned it will have to cancel some flights if the strikes go ahead. Other short haul flights might be disrupted, it warned.
However, the airline said it will try to reduce disruption by using larger aircraft on some flights and passengers due to travel to France, Madrid or Barcelona are being given the option to delay their journey.
"Yet again this will unfortunately bring another wave of unnecessary disruption for some customers travelling in Europe," it said.
Ryanair has called on the French Government and European Commission to take action to prevent the strike by French ATC unions.
The airline said it had been forced to cancel a number of flights today.
"Further cancellations are possible and delays likely as French ATC unions yet again close the skies over Europe," it said.
The airline is urging consumers to sign the A4E ‘Keep Europe’s Skies Open’ petition, which will be presented to the European Commission when it reaches a million signatures.
