Source: Vertical Aerospace
Heathrow is looking at introducing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for first and last mile journeys to cut Heathrow congestion.
Flying Taxis could transport people from Heathrow to different parts of the southeast and across the country in four-seater VA-X4 aircraft made by, Vertical Aerospace. Vertical agreed a partnership with Heathrow to help launch air taxi flights by 2025.
Virgin Atlantic has ordered up to 150 of the battery-powered aircraft and will operate the taxis.
