With the Solar Eclipse a month away, spring in Niagara Falls promises to be a busy, exciting time.
There is much more beyond the eclipse and the iconic falls, with many fun, yet free attractions and experiences to discover. Here are some of the best things to do without paying a cent.
Solar Eclipse – NASA programming
From the 4-8 April, astronauts from NASA and other scientists will be providing free programming and exhibits throughout Niagara Falls USA, including at Niagara Falls Public Libraries, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, the Aquarium of Niagara, the Niagara Power Vista, the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and Niagara Falls State Park. Visit www.niagarafallsusa.com/2024-solar-eclipse for all the latest details.
Free Guided Hikes
Take a free guided hike and witness the lesser known landscapes in the area. Suitable for individuals and families, you can choose a hike with some serious miles or a more casual experience. Stroll around Artpark State Park in Lewiston guided by a mobile app, with location-specific music centred around history, nature, and art.
Niagara Falls State Park
Various viewing areas are available in Niagara Falls State Park. Luna Island, a small area between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls offers awe inspiring, close up views of both Falls. Meanwhile, Terrapin Point is perfect for sights of the thundering Horseshoe Falls whilst Prospect Point is the prime viewing area for the American Falls and Rapids, including the nightly illumination and seasonal fireworks. The nightly illuminations transform the natural wonder into an array of colors.
Free Niagara Shuttle
Experience Niagara’s iconic landscape, rich history and culture using the free Niagara Falls shuttle service operating from May until September. Take a trip to attractions such as Old Fort Niagara and Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center.
Niagara Power Vista
Just north of the Falls, the Niagara Power Vista is an exciting experience for kids and kids-at-heart. Experience interactive exhibits, the chance to design your own dam, and a high-tech virtual ride across the landscapes of New York State. Free admission and open year-round.
