Delta Air Lines has begun rolling out free Wi-Fi on select long-haul international routes.
The airline says most transatlantic routes will have the free ‘Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile’ service by the end of this summer.
It gives customers on some Viasat-equipped long-haul international flights fast and free Wi-Fi.
Delta says the free service offers streaming-quality connectivity, which is currently available on nearly 700 aircraft.
This represents more than 90% of Delta’s domestic mainline fleet.
“As we continue to roll out fast, free Wi-Fi, we’re able to serve customers traveling both domestically and internationally in new ways,” says Ranjan Goswami, SVP. – Customer Experience Design.
“The scale at which we’re bringing free in-flight Wi-Fi to customers is unmatched in the airline industry.”
The rollout for international services is taking place on a route-by-route basis.
Later this year, all Viasat in-flight Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft will officially convert to the personalised Delta Sync Wi-Fi experience.
After International, Delta’s regional routes are expected to follow with a similar rollout into 2025.
