Frequent flyers remain underwhelmed by the service provided by TSA agents at the nation’s airports.
In a survey of more than 2,000 travelers conducted by Frequent Business Traveler magazine, 71.9% said screening procedures are either not effective or not too effective in stopping potential threats.
Only 20% said they were somewhat effective and 1.9% thought they were extremely effective.
In addition nearly 45% of travelers polled said they were not satisfied with their most recent experience at airport security screening.
In last year’s survey that number was 38.8%.
"This year’s survey results show that the TSA has a long way to go to build confidence in its mission," said Jonathan Spira, editorial director, Frequent Business Traveler.
"Our survey respondents traverse security checkpoints multiple times each month and are in an excellent position to render a verdict on this subject."
The survey showed three quarters (76.7%) have used the PreCheck expedited trusted traveler program but overall satisfaction in the program continues to fall.
The program got a 62.7% satisfaction rating from respondents, down from 80.3% in 2013.
This is likely due in part to the recently discontinued policy of allowing other non frequent travelers to use PreCheck lines.
