Garuda Indonesia is to start services from London to Jakarta, operating from its new UK base at Heathrow Terminal 3.
The new service, launching on March 31, will be the first and only non-stop flight connecting the UK and Indonesia.
Seats are due to go on sale from the third week of February.
Cutting out the previous stopover at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport from London Gatwick, the service will operate five times a week, departing every day except Mondays and Fridays.
Return flights to the UK will be direct via Singapore.
Jubi Prasetyo, general manager UK and Ireland, said: "Making the move to Heathrow Airport has been an ambition of ours since joining SkyTeam in March 2014.
"Heathrow’s pivotal role in servicing the alliance’s 1,052 destinations makes it an ideal departure airport for our passengers."
The non-stop route from Heathrow will continue to use the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration.
