Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream will homeport in Singapore from December 2017.
It will redeploy for a year to Singapore from its current base at Gaungzhou Nansha port in China on December 3.
‘Singapore is a logical hub, given its airlift and support," said president Thatcher Brown.
Before then its second newbuild, World Dream will be launched and head to East Asia, although the homeport is yet to be announced.
From Singapore Genting Dream will sail alternating cruises to Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Phuket, and Indonesian sailings to Java and Bali.
Other destinations will be added between April-October 2018 with additional itineraries in the South China Sea and Java Sea.
"We warmly welcome year-round homeporting of Genting Dream in Singapore," said Lionel Yeo, chief executive of the Singapore Tourism Board.
"This historic deployment underscores the potential of Southeast Asia as one of the world’s prime cruising destinations. As the ASEAN lead coordinator for cruise development, Singapore will continue working closely with our neighbours to grow the cruise industry in this region."
