Gites.co.uk looks to take on the big boys
A new website dedicated to French self-catering properties is looking to take on the ‘big players’ in the property rental market.
Gites.co.uk hopes to compete with the likes of Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct by focusing purely on French gites and villas.
"Many of the bigger holiday rental sites operate in several markets and, by necessity, their offerings are not tailored specifically to the French market," said founder Duncan Pollard.
"Gites.co.uk only lists properties in France, so we can best serve both home owners and holidaymakers."
Pollard, a regular visitor to France, decided to set up gites.co.uk after becoming frustrated with the lack of focus of existing property rental websites.
"France is a fantastically diverse country and deserves more than just an entry on a worldwide directory of properties," he said.
The site has acquired a prime domain name and is optimised for key search terms.
Pollard plans to run a paid campaign on Google to deliver high quality visitors to property listings.
As an introductory offer, gites.co.uk is offering home owners free 12-month listings with no strings.
Owners and agents are invited to take this offer up for a limited time at http://www.gites.co.uk/offer-free-listing.
