Travel and holiday trade shares had a generally buoyant day yesterday, as did the major stock market indices.

The FTSE 100 closed on 4949.4, a healthy 50.9 points up – a five-week high – and the FTSE 250 finished the day on 6857.0, 26.3 points up.
