Grounded Go First scales back restart plans
Grounded airline Go First has scaled back its timeline for resuming flights again.
It follows concerns raised by regulator DGCA after its recent audit of the carrier.
Go First has been grounded since early May due to financial woes.
The regulator says the airline does not have an adequate number of pilots and technicians for the proposed number of flights.
For example, the airline proposed flights to Leh and Thoise, but the DGCA found the airline hasn’t got the sufficient number of pilots specifically trained for these two high altitude airfields.
Around a dozen concerns were raised by the DGCA.
Following this, the airline will scale back its initial plans for a restart.
It will restart with 15 aircraft operating an average 114 daily flights to.
Go First had initially wanted to restart with 22 planes.
“The airline said it would then progressively add aircraft over time.
The DGCA audited the Go First bases at Delhi and Mumbai on July 4-6.
