Troubled cruise line Haimark has confirmed the cancelation of all sailings through mid-December at least.
Haimark recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection but did not officially cancel any sailings at the time.
According to a USA TODAY report, customers have been informed upcoming sailings on its sole ship, the Saint Laurent, have been scrapped, with some customers told just days before they were due to embark on a cruise.
In an emailed response to USA TODAY, Haimark president Hans Rood said all cruises are on hold until at least December 11.
"We are working hard to get the ship back in her sailing schedule and first need to lift Haimark Line out of Chapter 11," Rood said.
"Negotiations to resolve the problems are moving along quite rapidly, and we hope to announce a resolution quite soon, assuring a stable continuation of sailings," he said.
Rood said refunds for the affected customers are being processed.
The Saint Laurent collided with a lock on the St. Lawrence Seaway just weeks after its launch and the company attributes some of its cash flow problems to still unresolved insurance issues relating to that incident.
