Hard Rock is to open a hotel in the popular Mexican resort of Cancun.

The Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Cancun will open in 2017, which will be the chain’s third property on the Yucatan peninsula.

It will have 1,800 oceanfront rooms, six restaurants, five bars and lounges and a lagoon swimming pool complex.

It will also have 90,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The resort will be located overlooking the Caribbean Sea and 15 minutes from Cancun airport.

Orlando-based Hard Rock International currently manages 197 cafes, hotels and casino resorts in 62 countries.
