Even before the leaves begin to change, Sevierville is up for the season with Harvest Fest displays throughout town beginning in September.
Although these whimsical displays are found nearly everywhere, downtown Sevierville is a favorite place to take in the décor.
Make sure to cast a vote for your favorite display in the Harvest Fest decorating content, and new this year, be on the lookout for Sevierville’s harvest friend, Harvest Hank, in a new scavenger hunt activity.
Plan a few stops for Harvest Fest photos, then ride the peaceful chairlift to SkyLand Ranch for three fun events that run through November 1. The daily Apple Harvest Festival features apple baked goods as well as the spectacular views, thrilling rides, and the miniature animals this mountaintop attraction is known for. On select nights, guests can also enjoy Moos & Boos, a fun Trick or Treat event for kids 12 and under. Then stick around to solve the mystery of Ghost Town at SkyLand Ranch, while enjoying good food, live shows, rides, and more. Take a spin on The Wagon Wheeler, a 100-foot-tall swing tower, and ride The Wild Stallion, the longest mountain coaster in the southeast. Best of all, tickets are good for three consecutive days of play.
Kyker Farms annual corn maze is set to return in late September and October. Get “cornfused” with four different mazes, go for a hayride, and pick a pumpkin grown right on the farm at one of Sevierville’s oldest farms.
A host of other events are also taking place this fall in Sevierville—including the Fall Celebration at the Robert A. Tino gallery (October 3-4), Apple Valley Harvest Festival at the Apple Barn Village (October 3-5), and the 10th annual Jeeptoberfest in the Smokies (October 25).
Family-friendly-frights include Sevierville’s annual Halloween-themed event, History & Haunts (October 16), which features historic ghost tours, costume contests, dance parties, hayrides, fireworks, and more in downtown Sevierville.
On October 30, families can enjoy trick-or-treating and genuine, kid-safe construction equipment at Dig’n Zone Theme Park’s free Track-or-Treat event.
Leaf peeping
Peak leaf viewing is typically mid-October through mid-November, and there’s no better time on one of Sevierville’s eight historic self-guided fall drives. Learn about the history of the community, from battle grounds to grist mills, and enjoy picturesque fall views on a leisurely drive.
Or add some adrenaline and take in the fall views from above. Scenic helicopter tours, zip line excursions, and ATV trails are all great ways to get a bird’s-eye view.
