Heathrow flags more flight cancellations this summer
Heathrow Airport issued a warning that more flights could be cancelled before the end of summer.
Airport bosses apologised for the continued disruption but they aren’t ruling yet more cancellations.
It regretted ‘long queue times, delays for passengers with reduced mobility, bags not travelling with passengers or arriving late.’
Airlines were ordered make sure their schedules were achievable and not selling flights that cannot be delivered.
Airlines have amended their schedules, which will be reviewed, Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye said.
The airport will ask for ‘further action if necessary’ from the airlines if they feel they are being too optimistic.

“I am very proud of the way that our team is rising to the challenge of growth, and giving excellent service to the vast majority of passengers,” Holland-Kaye said.
“However, we have already seen times recently when demand exceeds the capacity of the airport, airlines and ground handlers.”
“We will review the schedule changes that airlines have submitted and will ask them to take further action if necessary.”
