California Central Valley’s historic El Capitan Hotel is encouraging guests to explore the great outdoors at Yosemite National Park with a personal guide package.

It is located in downtown Merced which is known as ‘the Gateway to Yosemite.’

The boutique Yosemite hotel now offers a package with unique access to Yosemite National Park through discounted day hikes with a personal guide.

It has sealed a partnership with Groveland-based, outdoor guide service Lasting Adventures, offering a discount on private guided day hikes.

It is part of the hotel’s ‘Lasting Adventures’ package.

The 114-room Yosemite hotel offers a less-crowded basecamp for day trips.

The package offers accommodations for two nights, an exclusive code to book any Lasting Adventures Yosemite Day Hike at a 15% discount, a box lunch for two and a F&B credit.

Each Yosemite day hike is led by a professional guide and custom designed to accommodate various skill levels and interests.

Guests can trek up and down Half Dome, hike through giant sequoias, summit Clouds Rest, and visit Yosemite Falls.

A Lasting Adventures hike also guarantees entrance into the national park, even during the busy summer months.

“At El Capitan Hotel, we feel so lucky to be in the heart of the Central Valley, and welcome guests to experience Yosemite National Park,” said Managing Director Robin Donovan.

Just outside the gates of Yosemite, Madera County has water sports at Lake Bass, the Fossil Discovery Center, and tastings with a view along the Madera Wine Trail.

Across the Central Valley, Fresno has access to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia national parks within 90 minutes while Visalia has easy access to Sequoia and Kings Canyon.
