Travellers to Australia are being warned of a number of serious bush fires in both Tasmania and Victoria.

The Foreign Office (FCO) said they were causing extension damage and risk to life.

They are also reducing air quality in some areas, which could provoke respiratory conditions, it said.

In an update to its travel advice it said: "Follow the latest warnings and advice from the Tasmania Fire Service and Victoria Emergency – @TasFireService and @vicemergency on Twitter."
