Hong Kong Express taps Worldpay to aid expansion
Hong Kong Express has tapped global payment provider Worldpay to help sustain the airline’s expansion into new markets with multi-currency pricing support.
The Hong Kong-based low-cost carrier is looking to leverage Worldpay’s global reach and specialist understanding of local payment markets as it continues to steadily add new routes in Asia.
HKE launches flights to Da Nang, Vietnam – its 16th destination on April 1.
“Worldpay’s range of currencies allows us to offer our customers the opportunity to pay in their preferred way in their local currency. It can only lead to increased transaction volumes which is why Worldpay was the ideal partner for us, said Andrew Cowen, the airline’s deputy CEO.
“HKE is a great example of a company that has a large international customer base and needs a payment partner to support high volumes of international transactions in multiple currencies,” explained Mike Parkinson, vice president, airlines at Worldpay.
The deal will provide HKE with analytics and optimisation services to help boost acceptance rates and revenue, with integration across multiple distribution channels including Amadeus and Sabre.
Worldpay claims to be one of the largest payment providers in travel e-commerce with fraud and chargeback teams specialising in the travel sector.
It provides payment and settlement services for several airlines such as British Airways, KLM and Ethiopian Airlines.
