Hotel guest wakes up find snake in bed
A woman woke up to a surprising bedfellow during a short hotel stay in Memphis.
Melinda Major from Nashville woke up to a snake slithering over her.
"I felt something across my arm this morning. I looked over, and it was a snake. It was laid out across my arm," Major told local media.
She jumped up and flipped the snake off her arm, and climbed into a desk.
She then called the front office at Hampton Inn Walnut Grove in East Memphis for help.
After the initial early morning shock, Major was full of praise for how the hotel handled the situation.
"They did compensate my room, so they took care of me and were very nice to me."
The hotel said: "The safety and security of our guests is at our upmost priority at all times at the Hampton Inn. Upon learning of the incident, the hotel immediately removed the snake and alerted pest control who surveyed the room further."
The reptile turned out to be a small grass snake which somehow slithered up stairs or an exterior wall and inside the second floor guest room.
