Hotel snafu for President Trump at Hamburg G20 Summit

Sunday, 07 Jul, 2017 0

There were more hotel woes for President Donald Trump.

This time it has nothing to do with his own company Trump Hotel Collection but rather procrastination by White House officials.

They apparently waited too long to book accommodations for the President and his detail for the G20 Summit in Hamburg, and found all suitable hotels were already snagged by other world leaders.

First choice was the Hamburg Four Seasons Hotel, news outlet Hamburger Abendblatt reported, but all its 156 guest rooms and suites had already been booked out by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and his entourage.

It was the same story at all other luxury hotels in the city, Buzzfeed reported.

After a fruitless search, there was a possibility the leader of the free world was going to have to stay in Berlin and fly in to Hamburg for the Summit, but Hamburg’s local government has come to the rescue.

The President will stay at the official Hamburg Senate guest house, while the US Consulate General in Hamburg will host some of the Presidential staff, according to the AP.

Hamburg police confirmed ‘a summit delegation’ will stay at the guest house but declined to elaborate with any further information.
