Food vendors who have encroached on Hua Hin beach near to the Hilton Resort and Spa have been ordered to dismantle their stalls by Monday or risk being fined.
According to a report in the Bangkok Post, the 22 operators will be allowed to continue running their businesses in a specially designated area.
The removal order was made at a meeting yesterday (Thursday) with municipal, police and military officers.
The meeting came after complaints that the vendors had been violating regulations by building semi-permanent facilities and cooking on the beach.
After complaints about overpriced food, officials and the vendors also agreed to set prices for certain dishes and to
install signs outlining their menu and prices at spots where customers could see them clearly.
If they break the orders, the sellers will get a warning for a first-time offence, a seven-day ban from selling food for a second offence and must stop operating and leave for a third offence.
