Hyatt Regency returning to Sydney

The Hyatt Regency brand is returning to Sydney later this year.
A management agreement has been signed with M&L Hospitality to reflag the Four Points by Sheraton hotel and will reopen as Hyatt Regency on November 30, 2016.
"We are thrilled to work with M&L Hospitality to bring the Hyatt Regency brand back to Sydney," said David Udell, group president – Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
"Hyatt hotels have been operating in Australia for more than 30 years, providing a solid foundation for future growth in what is a dynamic market. This hotel will resonate with business and leisure travelers alike, and furthermore, we believe this hotel will be a leader in providing outstanding exhibition and function spaces."
It is undergoing a $250 million refurbishment, which includes a new 24-story tower and 222 more guestrooms.
Hyatt is touting it as the largest upscale full service hotel in Australia with 892 rooms.
There will be more than 37,000 feet of meeting space, with two ballrooms able to seat more than 1,000 people.
This will be part of the new pillar-less convention centre which overlooks Darling Harbour.
There was a 9% increase in MICE and leisure travel according to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics with 7.6 million visitor arrivals for the year ending February 2016.
