InterContinental Hotels Group says it is close to achieving a milestone with 1,500 Wi-Fi connected hotels in the Americas region by the year-end.
Its IHG Connect system was launched last year and the company plans to roll it out to more than 5,000 IHG hotels worldwide.
IHG Connect uses cloud-based WiFi technology and allows users to only sign in once to access Wi-Fi at all hotels.
"It’s no secret that in today’s technology landscape, consumers demand reliable, high-speed WiFi that can perform consistently and effectively. Early adopter IHG Connect-enabled hotels have already seen a double-digit increase in their guest internet satisfaction scores," said Jeff Eckard, VP of technology for the Americas at IHG.
