IHG signs deal for China expansion
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has signed a deal with Shimao Group to open six new hotels in China.
The group will open hotels under three of its brands in four cities by 2013, adding 2,100 guest rooms.
The two companies already have a previous agreement for IHG to manage a Holiday Inn in China.
The six new hotels will be:
– InterContinental Beijing City Centre, planned to open in 2012 with 330 rooms
– InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, a 380-room hotel due to open in the Songjiang District in 2013, with one floor above ground and 17 underground
– InterContinental Fuzhou, with 360 rooms, due to open in 2013
– Crowne Plaza Shaoxing, with 460 rooms and opening in 2012
– Holiday Inn Shaoxin, with 310 rooms when it opens in 2012.
– Holiday Inn Mudanjiang, in a new industrial city, a major destination for Russian business travellers, with 260 rooms and planned to open in 2012.
