IHG signs first InterContinental in Sri Lanka

IHG has signed an agreement to open the first hotel of flagship brand InterContinental in Sri Lanka.

Slated to open in 2019, InterContinental Colombo will have 307 rooms including 47 suites and located centrally along Galle Road.

The hotel will feature six dining venues including an all-day dining restaurant and more than 12,000 square feet of meeting and banqueting space.

"This move is in line with our strategy to grow IHG’s footprint across South West Asia, and expand the presence of the InterContinental brand in key cities and resort destinations in the region," said Sudeep Jain, IHG’s VP of development, South West Asia.

"We are confident of offering the finest luxury experiences to our guests, when we open our doors in 2019."

The deal was inked with owner Pearl Grand Tower Hotel (Private) Limited
