24 June FestArtusiana – "The Best Food Festival in Europe" The birthplace of Pellegrino Artusi "The Father of Italian Cookery" becomes the heart of an unbelievable food festival each midsummer. Streets are named according to dishes, open-air restaurants abound – there are demonstrations, food buskers, music, wine, food and song everywhere. A delicious delight.

1 October Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco – the National Fair of White Truffles is held each year in the beautiful, historic fairy-tale castellated hilltop town of Sant Agata Feltria. Everybody from miles around to join in this fair perfumed by the heady scent of truffles. With hundreds of stalls, music and dancing – this is an authentic glorious food experience.

5 November Festa di San Martino – the Cuckold’s Festival – this 1000-year old festa, takes over the wonderful old hilltop city of Santarcangelo di Romagna every year. Thousands and thousands flock to the city to enjoy the food and the music, the dancing and the competitions held in this atmospheric place. Plus to test their cuckold level under the horns strung up below the triumphal arch.  It’s a great, wild, party.

10 December Truly Traditional pre-Christmas Nativity and Christmas Markets. Nativity is by far the biggest festival in Romagna – even the smallest hilltop towns compete against each other is the number and size and artistry of their nativity scenes. The seaport of Cesenatico goes one further – the whole port is a nativity. And San Marino is Christmas personified. The whole historic state becomes ‘A Christmas of Miracles’ Everywhere there are the lights, the scents, the music, the laughter of Christmas.
