Jamie Oliver's Gatwick Airport restaurants still trading 'in short term'

Jamie Oliver’s eateries at Gatwick Airport are temporarily continuing to trade after the celebrity chef’s UK restaurant business went into administration yesterday.

Twenty two of the 25 restaurants in the group have closed.

The other three, Jamie’s Italian and Jamie’s Italian Coffee Lounge, both at Gatwick North and Jamie Oliver’s Diner at Gatwick South, are continuing to trade in the short term while administrators explore options for the outlets.

The celebrity chef said he was ‘devastated’ when the group, which includes the Jamie’s Italian chain, Barbecoa and Fifteen, went into administration, leaving 1,000 people without jobs.

KPMG has been appointed administrators.
