Japan National Tourism Organisation and the Singapore Tourism Board have joined hands to boost two-way tourism between the destinations.
A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Yoichi Matsuyama, president of JNTO and STB’s chief executive Lionel Yeo, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore.
A logo for the collaboration has been created featuring iconic characters Hello Kitty and Dori-tan.
The first joint activities of the partnership include Japanese Restaurant Week held in Singapore from 24 February to 8 March, featuring 80 participating Japanese restaurants.
Also, a concurrent Singapore Food Fair takes place in Japan from 1 February to 15 March.
"With this MOC, we look forward to more collaborations and joint initiatives to continually build awareness and grow two-way tourism traffic for both our destinations," Yeo said.
