Zambia’s iconic Chichele Presidential Lodge is set to reopen with renewed splendour in March 2025.

This Zambian landmark promises a refreshed touch of luxury in the South Luangwa National Park.

Originally built in the 1970s as a personal getaway for Zambia’s first president Kenneth Kaunda, it catered to many distinguished guests over the years.

The reimagined luxury safari lodge is a result of a collaboration between owners Chichele Safaris, Chiawa Safaris, and the Fox Browne Creative design team, along with architects Jack Alexander Studio.

It has undergone a complete transformation from the ground up.

It creates a contemporary experience to honour the lodge’s history.

The new Chichele Presidential Lodge unveils its luxury Vista Suites in a soft opening later this year.

It is located in the heart of South Luangwa National Park, showcasing a unique fusion of history and modern design.

Perched on a hilltop Chichele unlocks 360-degree views of the floodplains, rivers, and forests below.

The newly transformed safari lodge has environmental responsibility at its heart.

It incorporates recycled materials, and uses energy-efficient systems powered by clean hydropower.

Guests can enjoy guided walking safaris and game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, or simply relax and unwind in luxury.

Expert guides unlock the secrets of South Luangwa National Park, bringing guests up close with Zambia’s wildlife.

At the Lodge, guests can partake in sunrise yoga, work out in the gym and fitness area and chill beside the rim-flow pool, situated away from the main guest areas.

Each of Vista Suites are fully air conditioned, including a private butler’s lobby, sitting room, bedroom, bathroom, and covered veranda with a private plunge pool and outdoor shower.

Two of these suites, one offering disabled access, are connected by a Safari Lounge with a private sitting room and dining room – ideal for families or friends travelling together.

All suites are Wi-Fi connected.

Chichele Presidential Lodge offers a range of upscale dining experiences from Boma barbecues and tapas evenings to elegant lawn dinners.
