Last call for agents to join CLIA River Cruise Showcase

Friday, 01 Mar, 2021 0

Places are still available for trade partners to join Cruise Line International Association (CLIA)’s Global Virtual River Cruise Showcase on 3 and 4 March 2021.

The industry body will bring together operators and experts in the sector, who will share via the webinar their insights and the latest news on the global river cruise market.

Presented across two three-hour sessions, the showcase will also set its sights on the future, and the upcoming experiences guests can look forward to.

Keynote presentations will be held, featuring industry leaders including Ellen Bettridge, ‎President and CEO at Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, and Rudi Schreiner, Co-Founder and President at AmaWaterways.

Sixteen cruise lines will provide ‘bite-size brand updates’ to make sure agents are up-to-speed with the latest product-related news. Furthermore, destination panel discussions will take place on river cruising in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Andy Harmer, CLIA Director UK & Ireland, said: "We’re eagerly anticipating the River Cruise Showcase as its focus is to inspire the trade by giving them real-life experiences, ideas on future trends and an appetite to learn more.

"By attending, agents will be ideally placed to offer insight that customers are looking for as demand continues to grow."

In addition, CLIA is launching the ‘RiverView Program’, which aims to create a global river cruise community that comprises stakeholders from across the sector. A range of resources, learning materials, events and networking opportunities will be on offer to help travel professionals who want to specialise in this area.

A key focus of the program will be a new training certificate, comprising two sections – European River Cruising and Worldwide River Cruising – including tailored advice and guidance on each river and destination, and offering around five hours of in-depth training.

The Program will also offer a range of new online resources and unique digital content, as well as access to global in-person and virtual events.

Registration details for the RiverView Program will follow in March after the Showcase.
