LATAM Airlines Group is expanding its international network with new routes to Ecuador and the Caribbean while reshaping its South American schedule for the 2026/27 northern winter season.
The biggest addition comes from LATAM Airlines Chile, which will launch a new nonstop service between Santiago and Quito on December 1, 2026. The four-times-weekly route will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.
The new Quito service complements LATAM’s growing regional network and provides additional links to Ecuador’s capital, a popular gateway for travelers heading to the Galápagos Islands as well as the country’s Andean and Amazon regions.
In Brazil, LATAM continues to expand its long-haul leisure portfolio. The carrier is set to launch nonstop flights between São Paulo Guarulhos and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on July 2, 2026. The route will operate five times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering Brazilian travelers another direct option to one of the Caribbean’s most popular beach destinations.
LATAM has also restored a key South American city pair. In May 2026, the airline resumed daily nonstop flights between Rio de Janeiro Galeão and Buenos Aires Aeroparque, a route last operated in March 2024. The service is flown primarily with Airbus A320 aircraft, with selected flights upgraded to the larger A321.
Not all changes involve expansion, however. LATAM Brasil will discontinue its seasonal nonstop service between Fortaleza and Santiago at the start of the northern winter schedule. The once-weekly Saturday/Sunday operation will end after its final flights on October 17-18, 2026.
The network adjustments are part of LATAM’s broader strategy of allocating aircraft to routes with the strongest demand while continuing to strengthen its position across South America and key leisure markets.
Beyond these latest announcements, LATAM has continued to grow its international footprint over the past year with additional services linking South America to destinations including Orlando, Lisbon, Melbourne (via Santiago), and increased frequencies on several routes to the United States and Europe. The group has also expanded connectivity from hubs in Lima, Santiago, and São Paulo, reinforcing its role as one of Latin America’s largest international airline operators.
