Loganair boosts Isle of Man flights

Monday, 09 Jun, 2021 0

Loganair is bringing more airlift to the Isle of Man from July as restrictions on travel are progressively eased.

The airline says there has already been a marked increase in bookings on Isle of Man flights as customers plan ahead for the summer and now will expand its Isle of Man schedule by another 70%.

That represents an increase to 44 flights per week by the end of July to six destinations compared to the current 26 flights to three destinations.

Flights to Birmingham start on 5 July, initially with services five days a week before gearing up to daily service from the beginning of August.

This will mark the restoration of Birmingham services which have been absent since the collapse of Flybe shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic last March.

Edinburgh services will also begin on 5 July, resuming a long-standing Loganair route.

There will be three flights each week – Monday, Friday and Sunday – with further increases planned later in the season.

Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer Kay Ryan said: "We’re delighted to be building upon the record of service that Loganair has established in the Isle of Man during the pandemic through this significant increase in flights now that travel restrictions have started to ease."

The largest increase comes on the flagship Isle of Man-London Heathrow route, which will move from one to two daily flights each weekday except Tuesday in July, and on Sundays from 5 July.

Also, direct flights between the Isle of Man and Jersey will operate every Saturday from 3 July.
