Lowcost Travel Group has seen its sales more than double in the past year.
Sales went up from £55,000,000 in 2007/08 to £109,000,000 in the year ending October 31.
All inclusive sales rose to account for 36% of total accommodation-only business, a rise in share of 14% as consumers sought greater value and certainty from their travel budgets, according to the company.
September is now the largest volume month for travel with May and June increasing in share by 2% year on year while the peak summer months of July and August were down.
Growth has been seen in a number of key destinations, including: Egypt +229%, Turkey +144%, Crete +142%, Majorca +118% and Costa Blanca +90%.
In addition to the overall performance, the group’s holiday transfer company Resorthoppa, set a new record in carrying more than one million passengers in the 12 month period.
Resorthoppa’s key areas for growth have been the key gateways of Palma, Gerona and Alicante.
Group CEO Paul Evans said: “We are immensely proud of our achievements this year, in a very tough environment we have well exceeded all of our expectations.”
Looking ahead, he added: “We are optimistic about 2010, we have some great relationships overseas which are securing even better rates, we continue to win new customers, our complaint ratio is less than one per cent and we have some exciting new products to offer the market next year.”
Trade sales director Tim Buckman added: “Our technology has been flawless, our pricing extremely competitive, we have invested in our trade sales team to offer our customers even more support in helping them grow their businesses.
“We have also developed new websites for both Resorthoppa and lowcostbeds.com to enhance the agents booking journey.”
