A Lufthansa flight bound for Germany from Houston was diverted to New York after a bomb threat.
Flight 441 was scheduled for Frankfurt but instead only got as far as New York JFK where it landed safely and was ushered to a remote area of the airport.
The bomb threat was described as ‘credible’
Passengers were evacuated from the aircraft late Monday and taken to hotels for the night.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said nothing suspicious was found onboard.
Port Authority spokesperson Steve Coleman said a phone threat was received by Lufthansa HQ after the flight left Houston.
No further details of the threat were released but no other airport operations at JFK were impacted.
Other bomb threats were made over the weekend on planes headed to Oklahoma City and Newark, the latter involved a hand written note left on a United Airlines plane.
