Maggots force Delta flight to turn back to Amsterdam
A Delta Air Lines flight was forced to turn around back to Amsterdam due to a bug infested carry on bag.
While the airline diplomatically described it as an ‘improperly packed carry-on bag,’ social media posts said the bag contained rotting fish covered in maggots.
Bugs were apparently falling from an overhead bin.
The flight had only got as far as UK airspace when it returned back to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
Passengers were given air miles, hotel accommodation and a meal voucher for the inconvenience.
“The aircraft returned to the gate and customers were placed on the next available flight. The aircraft was removed from service for cleaning,” the airline said in a statement.

WTH is wrong with people?!? If rotting fish and maggots were that prevalent why was this not discovered when this truly strange person went through security & baggage checks?
