Wednesday, 16 January 20083 min read

Genting Highlands Resort has won the 2007 World Travel Award for the ‘World’s Leading Casino Resort’ at the 14th Annual World Travel Awards.

Voted as the world’s top casino by 167,000 travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organisations in over 160 countries, Genting Highlands Resort beat many other well-known names including Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel and Ceasar’s Palace, the Emperor Palace in South Africa, Star City Hotel & Casino in Sydney and The Venetian in Macau.

Director of Tourism Malaysia Sydney, Mr. Shahrin Mokhtar, says Genting Highlands Resort is highly deserving of this award as it has worked hard to position itself as one of the world’s top casino resorts.

“Catering also to families, honeymooners and holidaymakers, the resort’s standards and facilities are world class; and the quality of service is second to none,” says Shahrin.

Located in the cool highlands of Pahang, Genting Highlands Resort has won numerous awards including the ‘Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2007/08’, ‘TTG Travel Awards 2007’, ‘Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands 2007’, ‘Brand Laureate Award 2007’, ‘Malaysia Spa & Wellness Awards 2007’ and the ‘FIABCI Malaysia Property Award 2007’.
