Marriott’s Collection brands portfolio opening 70 hotels this year
Marriott International announced a series of milestones for its Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of independent hotel brands.
It marked the opening of the 200th Autograph Collection hotel, the 50th Tribute Portfolio hotel, and the anticipated opening of the 120th Luxury Collection hotel.
All thee Collection brands will expand their global footprint to nearly 70 new locations during 2021, including 24 new market entries.
Marriott says it is a response to consumer demand for more tailored experiences.
"Our Collection brands provide travelers with authentic experiences, enveloped in the convenience and benefits of being part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. With new travel opportunities on the horizon, we look forward to welcoming guests to our distinctive properties," said Tina Edmundson, Global Brand & Marketing Officer, Marriott International.
According to Marriott, current data reflects an interest in more individualized and experiential stays offered by hotels such as those in the Collections portfolio.
The Luxury Collection anticipates debuting its 120th hotel, Matild Palace, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in Budapest, Hungary this spring. The first-ever Luxury Collection hotel in Tasmania is expected to open this year in Hobart, and is expanding its footprint in Asia this spring with Josun Palace, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in Seoul.
The Tribute Portfolio is expanding to new locations including Ibiza, and The HIYORI Chapter, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel becomes the 10th Tribute hotel in Asia.
