A senior Mircosoft boss is among the key speakers at a leading travel technology conference to be held next month.
Eric Basha, managing director tourism of Microsoft, is among the participants at the annual forum for Information and Communication Technologies in Travel and Tourism which takes place in Austria.
The 15th ENTER conference is to be held at the Innsbruck Congress Centre on January 23-25.
Topics include trends and future scenarios for travel and tourism, online communities, Web 2.0, destination management systems, mobile services, interactive TV, electronic marketing and recommender systems.
ENTER 2008 is dedicated to ‘eTourism: The View from the Future’. Other speakers include Geoffrey Lipman, assistant secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
Organising body, the International Federation for IT in Travel & Tourism (IFITT), has created three tracks for the event – research track, eDestination and Industry & Innovations.
IFITT president Professor Andy Frew said: “We have an enticing combination of the world’s leading eTourism researchers joined by industry champions describing their solutions and their visions for the future.”
