Navigator of the Seas’ sailing canceled due to dry dock delay
Royal Caribbean has announced Navigator of the Seas’ first post-dry dock sailing has been shelved.
Work has been delayed during Navigator’s multi-million dollar upgrade forcing the line to cancel the planned February 24 sailing.
The ship will now resume sailing on March 1 with a nine-night Caribbean cruise.
Royal Caribbean said the upgrades to outer decks were impacted by ‘poor weather conditions’ in Freeport, Bahamas.
"Although it is important to complete the ship on time, it is most important to ensure that we deliver 100 percent on our promise. Any decision that disrupts our guests’ vacations is a difficult one to make, and we realize this is disappointing news. We are providing our guests with compensation for their cruise fare, prepaid onboard amenities and airline cancellation fees," it said in a statement.
Guests will also get a credit for a future cruise.
Navigator is receiving a new pool deck, water slides and enhanced dining options.
