New carrier launches ahead of schedule

Friday, 04 Oct, 2005 0

New airline Eos, which is targeting business class travellers on its Stansted to New York route, has brought forward its inaugural flight from November 1 to October 18.

The move comes after the carrier received certification ahead of schedule from the US department of transportation and UK department of transport.

A second daily flight will be launched in January.

Founder and chief executive David Spurlock said: “We are very pleased to be able to start flights immediately. Passengers will find that we have raised the bar on what business travellers should expect and deserve.”

The privately-owned airline, which features 78-inch flat-beds, is offering an introductory price of £2500 ($5,000) for a return trip, £1000 off the usual price.
