FLY91, India’s new regional airline startup has teamed up with IBS Software to power its commercial operations.
FLY91 aims to provide an air alternative to road and rail travel across underserved routes in India.
FLY91 is adopting IBS Software’s omni-channel iFly Res commerce platform.
This will enable FLY91 to provide an enhanced user experience using a set of APIs and flexible rules engine.
It also enables dynamic pricing.
Access to an API-driven ecosystem gives FLY91 the ability to open its services and routes connecting tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India to interline partners.
Prasanna Subramaniam, CTO at FLY91, said: “Delivering a slick reservation experience will be a critical part of our success as we look to inspire a new demographic of air passengers.”
“It is also vital that we deliver a peerless experience and have the ability to react to market dynamics in real time to keep costs down.”
FLY91 has already secured its first set of routes under the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme called UDAN, which intends to put scheduled passenger services into at least 50 unserved regional airports.
It intends to eventually roll out approximately 1,000 new regional routes.
FLY91, started commercial operations less than one month ago.
It will operate a fleet of turboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft from its home base at Goa’s Manohar International Airport.
