New product allows airline staff performances to be assessed impartially
6th October 2006 Ashtead Surrey
Consumerdata, the travel customer satisfaction specialist, is releasing its airline staff performance assessment product, CD-AirlineParis, to a wider audience from the 9th October. It has been extensively tested and has been in regular use by a major UK based scheduled airline for well over a year.
CD-AirlineParis is designed to provide a level playing field, where aircrew or ground staff performances can be compared fairly and may be used to calculate weekly or monthly commission schemes.
Adrian Lawes of Consumerdata says “In the past, airline personnel have complained that the systems in place do not take into account the effect that some external factors have on passenger opinions and comments. CD-AirlineParis is configured individually for each airline, and allows many different aspects to be factored in. We have been working on this problem with the airlines for a long time, trying to come up with a system that not only works, but can be seen to work by all the personnel involved. We are confident that CD-AirlineParis is that product”
Over the last 12 months, the airline testing out CD-AirlineParis has been delighted with the response from aircrews. “Crews who are now winning ‘Crew of the Month’ are saying that previously they felt they would not stand a chance because their passengers have been influenced by things not under the control of the crews – airport conditions, delays etc”
Adrian North, Head of Software Development at Consumerdata, announced that this is the first product in a suite of applications, with the next release expected to be designed specifically for the hotel sector. “We recognise that each sector is different, each client is different, and should be treated as such”
He went on to say “A ‘one size fits all’ approach is irrelevant if not downright dangerous in this day and age. Each of the chosen variables affecting the assessment is given a weighting, which is calculated by using client data, both current and historical. The average performance ratings for each crew / flight are then weighted accordingly. Adverse variables can no longer skew crew performance reporting”
