New Shamrocker and Haggis brochure out now!

Europe’s fun and adventure travel network, Radical Travel, has released its 2006 Haggis and Shamrocker brochure for backpackers and independent travellers looking to explore the UK.

Designed specifically for travellers who want to make the most of their money and time overseas, Shamrocker and Haggis have Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales covered.

Tammy Marshall, managing director of the Radical Travel Network Australia said,

“Our Radical Travel program features a great range of touring options for the budget conscious traveller. Our tours feature the perfect balance between fun and adventure and visit all the famous sights whilst also venturing off the usual tourist tracks right into the heart of the stunning scenery, dramatic history and rich culture of each destination.

“The key feature of both Shamrocker and Haggis is that we offer independent and flexible touring options throughout the UK, in a style consistent with European touring yet adapted to suit the UK market and climate.

“Shamrocker and Haggis are distinct from other operators in that we do not operate a minimum numbers policy so once a traveller has booked to travel with either Shamrocker or Haggis they are assured that their tour is guaranteed to run. In fact, we have never cancelled a tour since our introduction in 1993!

“Another feature of our tours is that they provide travellers with ultimate freedom and flexibility. As we cater for budget travellers, we feel it is important that travellers are not charged for services they may not use. This means that we follow a pay as you go policy, where travellers only pay for what they use – when they use it. This includes room prices, meals and entrance fees.

“All our tours also feature passionate and entertaining young local guides who have an exceptional knowledge of their country and guarantee the laughs never stop for the ultimate holiday experience.

“Plus, the distinctive bright yellow and shamrock green coaches used on all Shamrocker and Haggis tours are designed to be eco-friendly with low emission engines, big windows, great stereo systems and most importantly comfort. They are also ideally suited to narrow mountain passes and single-track roads allowing for more adventurous touring”.

Shamrocker offers an authentic Irish experience in Ireland whilst Haggis gets off the beaten track in Scotland, England and Wales. Both feature local guides, follow fantastic routes and make great overnight stops.

Here is a sample of some of the tours available in 2006:

ð Haggis’ three-day Skye High. This action packed adventure in the Highlands and the Isle of Skye explores stunning Glencoe, the west coast, Loch Ness and more from just $219.

ð Haggis’ six-day Compass Buster. This is a spectacular adventure through Scotland’s west coast, far north west Highlands and the Isle of Skye, reaching faraway places and amazing remote spots that other trips don’t touch from just $379.

ð Haggis’ seven-day Full Monty. Explore England, Wales and the Scottish borders from just $379. Leave London behind and travel through stunning scenery, rural villages, spectacular mountains and beautiful lakes before arriving in Scotland’s capital Edinburgh. Here you can take the extra time to explore Scotland before enjoying two action-packed days back to London.

ð Shamrocker’s three-day Western Rocker. The ultimate Irish adventure visiting some of the most magnificent sites that Ireland has to offer. Kiss the Blarney Stone, party the night away at Killarney, lean over the Cliffs of Moher then head onto Doolin – home of traditional Irish music. This tour is priced from $199.

Shamrocker and Haggis uses only local guides packed with personality to take travellers off the beaten track and into the heart the region they are exploring. For maximum travelling freedom and flexibility, room prices, meals and entrance fees are not included in tour costs – travellers simply pay as they go and only for what they use! Hostel accommodation is guaranteed on all tours and features excellent facilities, provide free linen, offer self catering kitchens, laundry facilities and comply with strict safety regulations. Twin, double or B&B accommodation can also be pre-arranged upon request and is subject to availability.
