New York state wants to lure more Canadians

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has earmarked an extra $500,000 to woo more Canadians to upstate ski areas.
A cross-border advertising campaign will target French and English speaking markets in eastern Canada with print and radio ads.
The campaign will also air in upstate New York.
Despite the weak Loonie, Canada remains the biggest source market for inbound travel to New York state, with about 4.2 million visitors yearly.
At the third New York State Tourism Summit in Albany in January, Cuomo announced an increased tourism marketing budget of nearly $50 million, up around 10% from 2015.
