Northern Territory gets new international route with Qantas Singapore flights
Australia’s Northern Territory is getting new international airlift.
Qantas revealed it is launching a second international route from Darwin, with direct Singapore flights.
The new flights will start in December and add more than 60,000 seats on the route each year.
It will provide visitors to Australia with a convenient gateway to access iconic Top End tourism experiences.
The flights will provide Territorians with a direct Qantas option to Singapore and onward connections such as London on QF1 and to other destinations across Europe and Asia.
Qantas customers travelling from Darwin will save around five hours in flying time by no longer having to fly via other Australian capital cities to London.
Launching on 9 December 2024, flights will initially operate five days per week on two-class Embraer E190 aircraft.
It will then increase to daily Singapore flights from March 2025.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Joel Bowden said it is a much welcomed addition to the Territory.
“This is a significant milestone for Darwin’s aviation capacity and fantastic news for Territorians looking for more choice, competitiveness and connectivity.”
“The new flights will benefit locals wanting to travel overseas and also connect business travellers with international markets.”
