Norwegian has announced plans to launch flights from Edinburgh to New York for less than £60 ($69) one way.
The half price fares will be for travel in summer 2017, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The fares will be available on the airline’s six new fuel efficient Boeing 737MAX aircraft, which are due to enter service in the summer.
Norwegian also plans to reduce prices by using secondary airports in New York state, rather than JFK.
Norwegian currently operates flights twice a day from London Gatwick to New York starting at £125 one way.
However it operates a low cost carrier business model with extra charges for check in baggage and seat selection.
