The opening of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Belize private island development has been pushed back to November 2016.
Harvest Caye was originally scheduled to receive its first port call, by the Norwegian Jade, on February 16.
Western Caribbean cruises will instead make a call at Belize City, and guests for upcoming cruises will be given revised cruise itineraries by the end of this week, Norwegian said.
The delay will affect about 50 sailings.
"We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality amenities and services to our guests in one of the richest ecosystems in the region that is core to the Harvest Caye experience. As a result, the grand opening of Harvest Caye will take place in November 2016," the line said in a statement.
The multi-million dollar 75 acre project features an island village, private cabanas, a shallow lagoon for watersports, a pool and private beach.
