Norwegian carried 10% more passengers last month, with load factors also up.
The airline flew 2.36 million customers, while Widerøe carried almost 341,000 passengers.
The positive trend continued with a slight increase in the load factor at 85.7% as capacity increased by 11%.
“We had a significant increase in capacity year on year, while at the same time improving both the load factor and the yields from August 2023,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.
In August, Norwegian operated 99.5% of scheduled flights with on-time performance at 76.5%, which was down nearly 6% on last year.
The airline is also reporting good booking momentum into the autumn and winter seasons.
The launch of several new routes suggests a busy autumn season ahead.
“Norwegian’s autumn sales campaign was well received by our customers. We are excited to see the pace of bookings continuing into the autumn and winter seasons across a good mix of traditionally popular routes and new destinations,” Karlsen added.
Widerøe saw an 8% increase in passengers in August.
The regional airline also reports solid booking momentum for the coming months across the entire network.
